New versions are installed as a new theme next to your current one. Your products, collections, pages, menus and orders are stored in Shopify and are never affected.
- Duplicate your live theme as a backup.
- Upload the new version and recreate your settings in the theme editor.
- Preview the new theme, then Publish it.
Note
Code changes made to an earlier version are not carried over. Keep a note of any custom code you add.
